Parent Involvement
Family involvement is a major factor to successful learning, and it extends the benefits of our Team-To-OneTM approach. The Team for your child can include our staff, your family, teachers, IEP Team, and any healthcare professionals. By sharing information, we can do more together to strengthen your child's learning potential. We also have opportunities for you to learn about and observe what your child is doing in session.
Educational Events
Langsford's "What Parents Should Know About Reading and Comprehension Development" events are open to our clients AND the general public, and are designed to educate all parents about how successful readers develop.

Parent Training
These are a formal way our parents can connect with their child’s sessions. These are held periodically for enrolled clients and offer an overview of our approaches, our sessions, and some practical tips for helping your child at home.

Session observation
After the first 10 hours of sessions are completed, we encourage parents to observe a session to see first-hand how a 55-minute session progresses, and how their child is acclimating to the process.
To arrange a Session Observation, please contact your Learning Coordinator. Some basic observation rules will ensure the observation goes smoothly.
Parent Meetings
Assessment and Progress Update meetings are also learning opportunities for parents. We highly encourage both parents to attend. It is our goal to explain everything in the clearest language possible so that parents have a full understanding of their child’s strengths and weaknesses.
