How We Can Help
Parents have many choices to consider when deciding how to meet their children’s learning needs. Langsford Learning Acceleration Centers has worked successfully with families in many educational situations, including homeschooling. If you are homeschooling, Langsford Learning can assist you in providing the very best educational opportunities for your children.
How We Can Help
1. Attend a WPSK event or have us present to your homeschooling group.
What Parents Should Know About Reading And Comprehension Development is a presentation designed to educate parents about the converging evidence reading researchers now know about how a child develops into a successful reader and learner.
2. Our assessment services can guide your decisions on curriculum and instruction.
Many homeschoolers have utilized our assessments to learn the strengths and weaknesses of their child's cognitive processes involved in read and comprehension. The data gathered during an assessment can be used to better tailor home education efforts (curriculum and instruction) to meet your child’s unique and specific needs.
All assessments include an in-depth consultation with one of our Learning Coordinators to discuss the results and explain recommendations.
Our Early Reader Screening is a great tool for homeschoolers with young children just beginning formal reading instruction because it can help flag any areas that are predictive of future reading challenges.
In addition, for parents homeschooling children of any age who already know there are deeper concerns, we offer a variety of evaluations to measure the underlying learning processes important to reading, spelling, comprehension, handwriting and math.
With specific strengths and weaknesses identified and thoroughly explained to you, you would be able to make decisions concerning appropriate next steps, including whether or not your child could benefit from direct instruction from a team with extensive experience in training the foundations associated with independent learning.
